RESEARCH: Analyse a film title sequence?

American Horror Story- Asylum

This title sequence starts with flashes of disturbing scenes and distorted character faces which indicates to the views that this is a horror movie. The use of the flashing scenes almost represents a light turning on and off which could be a sign or torment.

There are a range of shot types mostly low angle shots which show that characters as powerful and make the audience scared as they feel small and vulnerable in comparison.

The  use of props in American Horror Story Asylum are religious statues, Religion is very prevalent in horror, with themes of life and death. Also man fighting inner as well as outer demons, which reflects the title of Asylum.

You can see that the film is set in either an abandon building of a abandon church, by the lack of facilities. Also by the ghostly characters you can see which indicated that its haunted.
